After many downloads of this fantastic game, I was frustrated that I couldn't get any of them to work. This post is a combination of Metal Gear Solid CDs from one source, and a crack that came from another. Using these particular CDs in combination with the crack, I have tested and confirmed this game to work under Windows XP SP3, and Windows 7 Home Premium (supposed to work under Vista as well, but I haven't tested on Vista).


MINIMUM PC REQUIREMENTS

Pentium II 266MHz (without accelerator)
Pentium II 233MHz w/4MB 3D Accelerator Card (accelerated mode)
32MB RAM
400MB Hard Disk Space (Includes 100MB for Swap File)
SVGA 16-bit Color Monitor
DirectSound 7.0 API-compatible Sound Card
Mouse
RECOMMENDED
Gamepad

Download CD1 and CD2. Mount CD1 (I use DeamonTools), install game. Copy the 2 files from the crack folder to C:\Program Files\Metal Gear Solid (default installation folder).

*Note: You will probably get an error about the game needing to run in software mode, this seems to be normal. Just restart the game, and it should load up normally.*
